Jeans Care - Remove Nail Polish Stain From Jeans

Remove Nail Polish Stain

Nail polish stains on jeans are frustrating, especially if it's a very bright color. Fortunately, you should be able to get the stain out. There are a few methods to try, sometimes one will work better for some stains and sometimes another method works better. Luckily, you should be able to get nail polish stains out of your jeans.

Here are several methods that you can try to remove nail polish stains from jeans:

  • Nail Polish Remover - Non-acetone nail polish remover is safe for some jeans, carpets, floors, etc., but not all. There is only one way to find out, try it if you dare. I've used it on some jeans with no problem at all, but I wouldn't risk it on a pair I really cared about.

  • Off! Yes, Off! (the insect repellent). It really works on nail polish, with some scrubbing.

  • Windex, or other ammonia based glass cleaner.

  • Hairspray. I haven't tried this one for nail polish, but I've used it successfully for other stains. I've read lots of testimonials that say this works really well.

  • Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3 - When all else fails, this is the stuff. It can be found at Home Depot in a three-bottle trial kit. The kit includes small bottles of formulas #1, #2 and #3. Home Depot also sells the big spray bottles of each formula.
