Jim Shaffer, designer and co-owner of Blue Tattoo, has invented a signature technique for completely eliminating the appearance of the dreaded "muffin top". After many years of experience in the denim industry, Jim has crafted the perfect formula that yields an ideal result. Using a combination of the contour-waist and a saddle back, Jim has created a jean that fits flawlessly and accentuates all of a woman's best features while eliminating the unattractive overflow in the mid-section.

In addition to cut, Blue Tattoo uses the finest and most up to date fabrics in manufacturing their jeans. This includes the latest development in stretch denim technology, Kurabo's DOW XLA two-way stretch denim. This denim, unlike typical stretch denim that only stretches in one direction, stretches in width and length, making a slimming pair of jeans that fits wear after wear. Kurabo's DOW XLA two-way stretch denim is available in multiple styles, including a straight leg, a boot-cut and a wide-leg silhouette in a vast array of washes.

Blue Tattoo also offers a full range of denim bodies in other fabrics, stitches, details and washes. This includes two new pocket styles, the welt and butterfly pocket, that continue the brand's signature as the perfect butt jean with no "muffin top". The classic denim comes in an array of styles such as skinny, straight, boot-cut, bell-bottom, overalls, skirts, Bermudas, and wide-leg.

Blue Tattoo is owned and designed by husband and wife team, Marie Kennedy Shaffer and Jim Shaffer. All of the design and manufacturing is done in downtown Los Angeles, where they continue to set the standard for quality, American made, West-coast style.
